Just so you know . . .
I am not a professional chef. My only training has been in my kitchen.
Many of the products I use are not certified as gluten-free, dairy-free or egg-free. Some of them state on their label things like "processed in a facility that also processes wheat, dairy or eggs". For my family this is okay. It may not be okay for you. ALWAYS CHECK labels and manufacturer info to be sure its safe for you.
My goal with this blog is to share what I've learned about allergy-friendly food preperation with the hope that others can benefit from our triumphs and our disasters. (Yes, there have been multiple disasters!) My cooking style is simple. Most of the meals I serve are familiar foods. After all, my goal is serve healthy foods that my children (and hubby) will happily eat. I prefer not to prepare multiple meals to suit different family members, so the allergy-friendly meals I serve have to be good enough for everyone in our family to eat, not just our allergic child. I hope you'll find here some helpful recipes, substitution ideas, and methods for managing a household that includes allergic individuals.
